First, the thing everyone gets wrong: this is not a holographic sight
It looks like an EOTech, so people call it one. Even inside its own review pool, one owner titled his five-star review "Awesome holographic sight" while another opened his with a correction: it is important to note this is a reflex, not a holographic sight. Both descriptions cannot be right, and the second is.
The difference is how the reticle gets made. A reflex sight projects an LED forward onto a partially silvered lens. A holographic sight uses a laser to light up a recorded hologram, which is a far hungrier process. The 65 MOA circle is doing more work than you think
The Multi-Reticle System gives you three presentations, and because all of them are projected from the same LED array, switching between them needs no re-zeroing. The 2 MOA dot is the precision option, covering about two inches at 100 yards. The 65 MOA circle is the speed option: human vision centers itself on a large geometric shape automatically, so the ring finds the middle of the window for you on presentation.
Two less obvious uses. Power: the part that makes it a defensive optic
Two systems work together. Shake Awake sleeps the LED when the gun sits still and wakes it on the slightest movement, with independent hands-on testing putting the wake time around 0.3 seconds, faster than you can shoulder the gun. Solar Failsafe runs the reticle off the solar cell on top of the chassis if the CR2032 dies outright. So the failure mode of a rifle left in a closet for two years is: nothing happens, it just works.
Be honest about the headline number, though. The up-to-50,000-hour rating is specified for the 2 MOA dot alone at a moderate setting. Run the full 65 MOA circle and you are lighting far more LED, which cuts runtime proportionately. Build: a titanium hood is not a marketing word here
Open-window sights are structurally vulnerable, which is the trade you accept for the field of view. Holosun's answer is a Grade 5 titanium alloy hood around the lens, on a 6061-T6 aluminum body finished with micro-arc oxidation, a ceramic-like surface treatment that is harder and more corrosion resistant than standard anodizing. It is nitrogen purged and IP67 rated, meaning a meter of water for half an hour, and it is rated to 1000G of recoil. All of that lands at 4.94 oz including the mount, when competing duty optics often pass 10 oz.

What owners flag, plainly
The most helpful negative review is not about durability at all, it is about the menu. An owner returned the sight because it had too many bells and whistles: he kept going back to the manual to switch between manual and automatic brightness, and never got as far as changing the reticle. That is a real cost of the Multi-Reticle System, and it is worth knowing before you buy a defensive optic you will operate under stress.
The other repeated note is mechanical and has a known fix. One competition shooter with 2,500 rounds through a PCC reported the mount's tension set screw loosening during a match; a drop of blue thread locker cured it and the optic itself performed, in his words, 100 percent.
